REALTECH TransportManager v5.0 now available

Enhanced handling and design

  • The new design of the user interface allows for even greater efficiency and intuitiveness of use of TransportManager.
  • The centralization of configurations in central interfaces has resulted in a better overview and simplified navigation.
  • Additionally, list are employed at many points which offer filtering and sorting capabilities and permit the individual configuration of screen information.

Package creation

  • As requested by many of our customers, transport requests can now be combined in packages making it possible to move entire groups of transports through the workflow as a logical unit.
  • Approvals, checks and reactions can be defined for the entire package. This facilitates handling of these transports and helps you allocate a change request or a subproject to a specific package.

Support of virtual systems

In order to be able to take future systems into account even during preparation stages, TransportManager 5.0 now allows you to integrate them as virtual systems. This greatly simplifies synchronization of not yet existing systems with existing systems.

Central emergency stop

Should it become necessary to prevent the import of an already approved transport request, this can be realized through a new functionality integrated in the TransportManager server.

Dual control / status change via third party

  • The security settings in the approval procedure were enhanced to include a process of dual control. Operational and technical approval now has to be granted by seperate users. This is of particular importance if your user concept gives specific users rights for operational as well as for technical approval.
  • Furthermore, it is possible to determine a status change via a third party.

Formatting of e-mail messages

You can now define the format of an e-mail message in order to better adapt e-mail notifications to your e-mail application.

Latest product information

You can choose to receive the latest product information every time the program is started, keeping you up to date with the latest news and developments.

System requirements

TransportManager 5.0 requires a SAP system release 4.6c or later.

TransportManagementCenter 2.0 now available !

In order to use the advantages of TransportManager beyond single system landscapes, REALTECH offers the newly developed TransportManagementCenter (TMC) as a new component of TransportManager. The TMC offers a central monitoring and controlling console for an unlimited number of SAP system landscapes. Features:

  • is available for all SAP and mySAP systems
  • offers a "single point of control" for all transport landscapes with global alerting, central error handling and display of the number of requested approvals
  • differs between content and technical approvals
  • uses configurable system monitors
  • provides "single point of access" to all defined TM servers
  • is 100% integrated into SAP - therefore means no additional administration effort

New TransportManager Release 4.3 available!

The current version of TransportManager offers a bunch of new opportunities to make transport management easier and more secure on even the newest releases of SAP software.

Learn more about the new features of TM Version 4.3!

Unicode
The TransportManager 4.3 is compatible to unicode systems.

Enhanced mail options
The available mail options are considerably enhanced. More users can be informed about transport issues, even if they are not directly involved into the transport process (e.g. different administrators or managers).

Global tracking
With the current release, the direct sending of tracking information is customizable for dedicated systems. The tracking information about any transports in the TM landscape therefore is more transparent and easy available.

Enhanced RZ20-integration
The amount of information which is transferred from TransportManager to SAP CCMS has been increased. Even alarms from different processes (ZRTC4SPY) are stored as CCMS alerts.

Workflow-Monitor: Preconfigured expansion levels
The workflow monitor display can be flexible preconfigured in Release 4.3. A user dependant configuration defines which information should be displayed directly after starting the workflow monitor, e.g.:

  • number of subscription levels
  • display of transport target systems
  • ...

This feature increases the monitor performance and creates a significant better clarity in the monitor display.

Mass changes / mass subscription
Transports can be marked blockwise in order to change or subscribe them in one single workstep - for sure an improvement in handling the daily transport work.

TransportManager 4.2 is available!

With the new Version of TransportManager you will get a higher level of security and automatism, furthermore more easement and comfort performing change requests within your mySAP system landscape.

New features of TransportManager 4.2

Definition of user groups
The workflow becomes very flexible by defining user groups. Thus you can specify up to nine different approval steps for the content approval and/or the technical approval.

Definition of dependency information
Dependency information allows the definition of an import order deviating from the export order.

Rejecting change requests
Change requests can be rejected to prevent those from import.

Evaluation of notes
Notes defined within TransportManger can be evaluated by selection criteria.

Queues and semaphores
The 'Queues and semaphores' option allows a global view at the currently running queues. In case of remaining semaphores it is also possible to delete them manually, if they could not be deleted by TransportManager.

Displaying tp system logs
Both system logs (ALOG and SLOG) can be displayed in 'Systems and Groups' for analysing import problems.

Test of the transport environment
The 'Systems and Groups' option allows checking of the interface to the transport program tp, the used transport profiles, the used RFC-Destination and the transport control program for each application server, by acting on the respective server. Furthermore the program checks for the currently active TransportManager version on the respective server.

Emergency brake
A currently running personal queue or a system queue can now be stopped with help of report 'ZRTC4BRA' (called on the affected target system).

Auto-configuration of job class for TransportManager jobs
Within TransportManager generated transport jobs will become automatically the same job class as the RDDIMPDP job class (since Rel. 4.0B).
