Optimized supplier management

Supplier management is an important sub-process of supply chain management. It comprises the identification of potential suppliers, their assessment and the management of the ordering process and of deliveries. The objective is to reach the highest possible level of automation for these tasks. SAP NetWeaver and the implementation of SAP BI open up new ways of improving a company's supplier management and procurement processes.

Concept design: optimized supplier management

REALTECH's consulting approach to optimize your supplier management deals with the following four sub-processes:

1. Supplier screening in order to create a preferred supplier basis
The relevant procurement market is defined and - based on concrete requirements - those suppliers are filtered out that can provide the required procurement object.

2. Supplier assessment and analysis
The supplier assessment and analysis look at all relevant aspects of the economic, ecological and technical performance of the suppliers. The objective is to select the best suppliers with respect to price, quality, delivery reliability, etc.

3. Supplier development and integration
Safeguarding and enhancing the potential for achievement and the supplier's performance. The focus is placed on strengthening the supplier relationship. This can, for example, be achieved by benchmarking the potential suppliers.

4. Supplier controlling and auditing
The primary task here is to inspect the incoming goods and to monitor the achievement of the targets for all activities performed by the service provider. Another task is to collect and disseminate specific supplier information. This information is then used to further assess and analyze the suppliers and contributes to future selection procedures.

Your advantages:

  • Standardization along the entire value chain
  • Strengthen your position to negotiate with suppliers
  • Enhanced purchasing conditions
  • Boost supplier performance
  • Central access to supplier information
  • Automation of labor-intensive and error-prone process steps such as supplier assessment
