Walldorf, September 21, 2010 — The infrastructure management components of REALTECH's theGuard! suite of products will be closely integrated with the next release of SAP Solution Manager. This will allow SAP Enterprise Support customers to seamlessly blend the business process and system landscape information available in SAP Solution Manager with the REALTECH Infrastructure Management solution.
The integration of SAP Solution Manager and REALTECH Infrastructure Management enables IT managers to industrialize their core IT processes in order to allocate more of their resources to business innovation. Small to mid-sized businesses in particular will be given the opportunity to add infrastructure and network data to the business process and system data managed in SAP Solution Manager. The former will be standardized as part of the Infrastructure Management and maintained in REALTECH's central configuration database (CMDB) and correlated with the business process and landscape data in SAP Solution Manager. This gives customers enhanced visibility into and continuity of core IT processes such as incident, problem und change management and allows them to better correlate their infrastructure and application metrics for monitoring and alerting purposes.
Furthermore, the integration of SAP Solution Manager and REALTECH Infrastructure Management facilitates and accelerates the Mission Critical Support for the entire solution for small to mid-sized businesses. Experience shows that more than 30 percent of mission-critical incidents in SAP solutions are caused by infrastructure problems. The integration of SAP Solution Manager and the REALTECH Infrastructure Management solution helps customers establish an integrated problem analysis process for their entire IT organization. Using the joint solution will also enable them to significantly reduce their TCO.
The technical quality and level of maturity of REALTECH's Infrastructure Management solution were only part of SAP's decision to cooperate with REALTECH. Another reason was REALTECH's focus on small to mid-sized businesses. What's more, theGuard! suite of products, which is run by more than 1,500 customers, is a tried and tested, scalable infrastructure management solution that supports a broad range of devices and systems. REALTECH's SAP Solution Manager and SAP technology consulting expertise was another factor in the decision.
REALTECH Infrastructure Management is fee-based and its integration with SAP Solution Manager is only available to SAP Enterprise Support customers. The offering will initially be limited to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
"With SAP Enterprise Support we can proactively support the solutions of our customers which, in addition to SAP and non-SAP applications, also include infrastructure components such as servers, networks, PCs, and printers," said Uwe Hommel, Executive Vice President SAP Active Global Support, SAP. "In REALTECH we have found a partner that provides SAP Solution Manager with full visibility into the infrastructure level. In combination with the business process and system landscape information that is documented in SAP Solution Manager, this will afford customers with a 360 degree view of their IT resources. SAP will thus offer an integrated one-stop solution for small to mid-sized businesses."
"Interacting directly with SAP Solution Manager, our theGuard! products let users establish an end-to-end monitoring of their components, from PC down to the network or storage component. REALTECH's Infrastructure Management on the basis of the integrated CMDB is the perfect addition to SAP Solution Manager, making it easier to map all IT service management processes in accordance with ITIL v3," explained Dr. Rudolf Caspary, CTO, REALTECH AG.
