REALTECH Increases Revenue and Completes Supervisory Board

Provisional nine-month figures in 2002 assume 5% revenues growth / boost in cash flow and net cash and cash equivalents / Richard Roy is new Super-visory Board member


Walldorf, October 24th, 2002.- REALTECH AG has increased its revenues in the first 9 months of 2002 by 5% to Euro 43.1m (compared with Euro 41.0m in the first 9 months of 2001). Software revenues rose by 49% to Euro 6.1m (Euro 4.1m), while reve-nues in the area of technology consulting - at Euro 37.0m - are fairly similar to the previous year's level of Euro 36.9m. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) reached Euro 3.3m (Euro 3.7m), while the operating income (EBIT) reached Euro 0.9m (Euro 1.1m). Earnings before taxes are ?1.3m (Euro 1.7m) and the net income amounts to minus Euro 0.1m (Euro 0.3m), resulting in earnings per share of minus Euro 0.02 (Euro 0.06).

Cash flow from operating activities amounted to Euro 4.2m, compared to Euro 0.7m in the same period of the previous year. Comparing the cutoff-days at the end of September, net cash and cash equivalents rose 7% to Euro 16.8m.

3rd quarter of 2002 in detail During the 3rd quarter revenues dropped slightly to Euro 13.9m (from Euro 14.5m in the third quarter of 2001). At the same time software revenues rose by 25% to Euro 2.1m (Euro 1.7m) while there is a 7% fall in the area of technology consulting to Euro 11.8m (Euro 12.7m). EBITDA amounts to Euro 1.7m (Euro 2.0m), while EBIT totals to Euro 0.8m (Euro 1.1m). With earnings before taxes of Euro 1.0m (Euro 1.3m) and a net income of minus Euro 0.2m (Euro 0.6m), the earnings per share amount to Euro 0.04 (Euro 0.12). REALTECH will be publishing its quarterly report for Q3/2002 on November 7th, 2002.

New Supervisory Board member at REALTECH Richard Roy, an independent management consultant from Dreieich, has become a new member of the Supervisory Board of REALTECH AG as of October 10th, 2002. The position was vacant following the departure of Mr. Markus Adam in July 2002. The other members of the Supervisory Board are Dieter Matheis (Chair-man), Jürgen B. Harder, Norbert Schwerber, Rainer Schmidt, and Peter Stier.

The 47-year-old obtained a Master's degree in engineering from the Darmstadt university of applied sciences in 1981 and then began his career as an office-based sales engineer at Hewlett Packard (HP), where he became a member of the Management Board in 1993. In 1995 he moved to Siemens Nixdorf AG and worked there until 1997 as Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Board. From 1997 to 2002, Roy held the position of chairman of the Management Board of Microsoft GmbH, VP EMEA Region. Alongside his commitment at REALTECH, Roy is also a member of the Supervisory Board and chairman of the accounting as well as auditing committee of IXOS Software AG, Grasbrunn.
