Walldorf, 9 May 2001. REALTECH AG, a leading supplier of technology consultancy, software solutions and hosting of complex e-business environments, has increased its sales in the first quarter of 2001 by 30 per cent from EURO 9.4 Mio. to EURO 12.3 Mio. compared to the same period in the previous year. In this same period, sales from software products for controlling and monitoring IT infrastructures increased by 22 per cent from EURO 0.8 Mio. to EURO 1 Mio. The company also displayed strong growth in Technology Consulting. Compared to the previous year, this business area grew by 29 per cent from EURO 8.6 Mio. in Q1/2000 to EURO 11.1 Mio. in Q1/2001. The company’s third segment, Hosting, contributed EURO 0.2 Mio. to the total sales.
The company reported EBITDA of EURO 0.3 Mio. in the first three months of this year (compared to EURO 1.0 Mio. in Q1/2000), while operative earnings (EBIT) amounted to minus EURO 0.5 Mio. in the first quarter of 2001 (compared to EURO 0.3 Mio. in the same period of the previous year). The company thus exceeded its original planned figures, which had been based on an EBIT deficit of EURO 1 Mio.
“In view of the results from the first quarter of 2001, we are highly optimistic about achieving the goals that we have set ourselves for the current fiscal year as a whole”, remarks Daniele Di Croce, CFO at REALTECH AG. “However, we are expecting difficult market conditions, because companies have become substantially more cautious when it comes to IT investments”, Di Croce continues.
