Walldorf, 16 October 2000
realTech AG concludes the acquisition of development house Globe Technology GmbH, based in Sandhausen near Walldorf. Since September 1999, realTech, the leading supplier of technology consultancy, software solutions and hosting of complex e-commerce environments, had held 51 per cent of the Globe shares. As of 1.10.2000, realTech has taken over the remaining 49 per cent of the specialist for Internet-based workflow solutions. Both companies have agreed to remain silent about the acquisition price. In taking over the company, realTech aims to continue to increase its share of business volume in the product business in the coming years.
By integrating the "Enterprise Task Manager" (ETM) solution, developed by Globe, into its own range of products, realTech consolidates its position as leading software supplier in the Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) area. Today, ETM is already integrated into realTech's ERM products and also forms the basis for the ETM/Helpdesk product for call centers. In future, the solution will constitute a basic component of all realTech products. It offers a user-friendly user interface for managing employee tasks via the Intranet, enabling users to obtain lists of their personal activities, messages and deadlines at all times.
ETM Helpdesk supports call centers
realTech's first concrete product component based on ETM technology is ETM Helpdesk, a solution enabling companies to support customers more quickly and efficiently. The software helps customer consultants to process and coordinate inquiries received via hotlines or helpdesks, and support department or call center business processes can be mapped in the product directly.
"ETM technology is a core component of our future software management products. We wanted to have complete control over the further development of this technology, in order to expand our competitive edge in the area of intelligent controlling and monitoring software," stresses Dr. Rudolf Caspary, Managing Director for Product Development at realTech AG.
"Today, we already achieve revenues of several billion marks with controlling and monitoring systems. In the age of e-commerce, the market is growing at lightning pace as the stability of systems becomes a decisive factor in sales and distribution via the Internet", explains Daniele Di Croce, member of the realTech executive board.
