realTech AG, a leading supplier of technology consultancy, software solutions and hosting of complex e-commerce environments, has opened a sales office in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires. The company's service portfolio includes technology consulting, hosting services and ERM software solutions for SAP customers in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Since September 1, realTech has been supporting customers and implementing projects in these three countries directly on customer premises. Responsibility for coordinating the new sales office has been assumed by the Spanish subsidiary realTech System Consulting S.L., Madrid.
In the above three South American countries, SAP R/3 customers benefit from the proximity of the technical consultants and from realTech's experience in both the SAP R/3 and mySAP.com environment. For long-term projects, employees from Spain are also available, and the new sales office gives potential customers access to SAP specialists. realTech already has an established customer base in the South American region, including not only multinational corporate groups such as DaimlerChrysler and Ericsson but also the Spanish companies Telefonica, Edesur-Edenor (Endesa) and YPF (Repsol).
In the regions supported by realTech, over 200 companies already have SAP R/3 installed and the demand for technical consultancy is expected to increase in the next few years. As the implementation of a successful e-business strategy becomes more and more important, many SAP customers are no longer able to meet the growing requirements placed on modern system management in the mySAP environment on their own. In Argentina and Chile, the standard business software SAP R/3 has a market share of 29 % and 27 % respectively, whereby the market volume for ERP software for these countries reached approximately $100m in 1999. Furthermore, for Latin America as a whole, experts anticipate an annual growth of 10 %.
